How Comfort Zone® Works

Pet behavior problems, such as urine marking in cats and excessive barking or chewing in dogs, are frequently caused by fear or stress. Developed and recommended by veterinarians, Comfort Zone® products are clinically proven* to help control destructive behavior in cats and dogs.

Like all animals, cats and dogs secrete pheromones. Research has shown that certain pheromones can help an animal cope with these fears or stress-related issues. Comfort Zone® products mimic these pheromones to help control your pet's behavior and make him feel more secure in his environment.

What are Pheromones?

What are Pheromones?

Pheromones are natural chemicals emitted by animals through their skin and glands that help them to communicate with others of the same species.

In mammals, the vomeronasal organ, a structure close to the nasal passage, receives these pheromone signals. When animals receive pheromone signals, there is an involuntary behavioral effect on those animals. There are many different types of pheromones and different classes have different effects. For instance, some serve social functions among animals, while others serve sexual functions.

How is Works?

Instructions for Use

  • Remove bottle cap.
  • Screw diffuser onto the bottle and tighten.
  • Plug into electric socket in the room your pet is in most.
  • Replace bottle after 4 weeks.
  • Use for 90 days for best results

If your pet has access to more than one floor in your home, a diffuser should be used on each floor.

Spray:

Do not use the Comfort Zone® with Feliway® Spray directly on animals.

  • To stop or reduce urine marking: Comfort Zone® with Feliway® Spray directly onto places soiled by your cat and on prominent objects that could be attractive to the cat. One depression of the nozzle should be applied daily about 4 in (10 cm) from the site and about 8 in (20 cm) from the floor. Important: The use of many cleaning agents and disinfectants will increase the likelihood of urine marking by your cat. It is essential that the soiled sites are not cleaned with bleaches or detergents (or their derivatives).
  • To transport familiarize a cat in a new environment: For transport in a cage, spray the inside of the cage with Comfort Zone® with Feliway® Spray approximately 20 minutes before introducing the cat.
  • To prevent or stop scratching: Comfort Zone® with Feliway® Spray should be sprayed once per day on areas or surfaces that could be attractive to the cat. It is necessary to cover the whole surface scratched (about 6 sprays).

For best results the product should be allowed to come up to room temperature by leaving it in the room for about one hour before using it and it should be shaken prior to use.

Refer to the product's Package Insert for complete instructions for use.
